Katachi Studio is a design and consultancy practice working across architecture, interior environments, furniture, object design, and creative consultancy.

Our work is guided by the pursuit of balance between physical and spiritual functionality. We understand functionality as the capacity of a space or object to support attention, ritual, memory, and emotional connection. Through this broader understanding of function, we seek to create work that responds to immediate needs while acquiring greater significance through time and use.

This approach is informed by an appreciation for material honesty, craftsmanship, and the changing relationship between people and their surroundings. Rather than treating technical and emotional concerns as separate, we consider them interdependent. Materials carry evidence of process, use, and transformation.

We describe the lasting relationship that develops between people, spaces, and objects as emotional heritage. It is not limited to what is inherited from the past, but also includes what is created in the present with the potential to be valued, remembered, maintained, and passed forward.
